16th Birthday Photos
My lovely kid #1 has been BEGGING me to take pictures for a while. I sacrificed an entire hour of my day last Sunday and took her out finally. We scoped out a few nice locations in Englewood and some run down railroad tracks in Independence. Much to our dismay, Alyx and A.J. were not pleased with waiting, waiting or waiting. So, here is what we ended up with....
Really needs a reality check!
I realized today it's been way to long since I wrote on my blog. I guess I'm not as much of a blogger as I wanted to be. I think I'll jump back on this band waggon. I'm sure the idea of buying a new laptop would help - thank you Thirty-One for giving me a Best Buy gift card. I promise, once again, to blog more frequently. So, beware...Sara's on a mission!

So much for being nice!
So, I decided that since it's 7:45 p.m. and my poor husband is still working I would try to take the trash out. Not a difficult task, right? I spent years taking the trash out all by myself like a big girl! Well, so much for being nice. As I was taking the very large bag out of the trash can in the garage, I felt a slice ~ a big painful slice in my finger. Immediately, I'm bleeding like crazy. Trying not to freak out I run upstairs to run cold water over it. Not sure why cold water, it just seemed like that was the right thing to do. A.J. is hoovering over it saying "ewww, mom that needs stitches". I had to have Sade help me bandage it because there was no way a band-aide was going to work. Typing is interesting & I'm glad I have a weekend to recover because working will be interesting. I put a whole new spin in "hunt & peck"

Happy Birthday To Me....
As many of you know, I have been asking Jeff for a puppy for a few years now. I figure we can't have a baby (like we need one anyway) and so why not a puppy? To be completely honest the thought of a puppy is exhilarating and scary all in one big bundle. I've never really had a dog that stuck around very long. Had a few that ran away or that didn't last very long. I guess it was the small kids at the time. I don't know, but I've always wanted one and it never really happened. My adorable hubby decided for my 34th birthday (yes I admitted I am 34...it's fabulous by the way) I was old enough to finally have a puppy.

Brady Jaxson Ruch
Here is my adorable puppy! I have to admit he is pretty marvelous. He is funny and he apparently fits right in to our hilarious and insane household. He is already spoiled (I'm sure you are shocked) and I'm pretty sure Jeff loves him a lot more than he will ever admit. I know he doesn't look like a "manly" dog, but he does love his papa. Needless to say I finally got the baby I always wanted! Welcome to the family Brady.

Never A Dull Moment
So you'd think we have a camera crew on our children 24/7. The moment you want to tell everyone about how silly your children are of course the only thing you can do is blog!
I had to leave work early today to get my sick 10 year old. She's laying on the couch and wants some ice cream. So, Sade gets home from school and I run to Sonic for everyone. Me, Sade, Alyx & AJ are in the living room watching whatever we can find on t.v. Sade's dad calls and is here to pick her up. She gets up and gets her stuff to leave. As I hear the garage door open to leave I look over and Alyx holds up Sade's phone. I said "Oops, how long til you think she comes back?" Just about then we hear the basement door slam, Sade comes up the stairs and we hear "Urgh!" I yell out, "Did you forget something?" She laughs and walks into the living room. Alyx still holding her phone up I said, "I think you left something Nugget." She's cracking up laughing and leaves. As she leaves she wants straight into the door. Face first. Classic!
Not two minutes later, Alyx (still laughing on the couch) and I are watching Friends. A.J. walks into the room and is running in place. He's 8, he never sits still. He has on those "swishy" pants that make noise when you walk. You know the basketball styles ones? Alyx pipes out, "Stand still your pants are annoying me." I couldn't help but bust out laughing. A.J. says, "I like these pants and the noises they make." HAHA!
A few minutes later we are still watching Friends and I'm cracking up laughing. Alyx says, "Oh my gosh my calm down." It was just so funny I couldn't help but laugh. She leaves the room. I think the noises were just too much for her since she's not feeling well.
So, A.J. sits next to me and he's all snugly. All of a sudden I smell something. You know how boys think it is just so darn funny to fart and make noises? Well, there were no noises and I wasn't going to say anything but it seriously makes me sick and I can't stand it. So, I look over at A.J. and he smirks. I said, "If you are going to snuggle with me you can not sh*t your pants." He started cracking up laughing. I told him, "I am not playing, that is gross go to the bathroom." He laughs and gets up and walks off. Now I have the couch all to myself!
If this is what the weekend has to offer tomorrow can not come fast enough!

Snow Days
Day two of the "Blizzard of 2011" and I'm stuck home again with the kids. So, today I told the girls "I think I'm going to get on the treadmill later". Sade's response, "You think you are or you are?" Uh? I think I am? She got me. As I thought about it, I decided I might as well go shovel the driveway. Needless to say that was a bad idea. I should have stuck to the treadmill. I made it about 1/4 of the way on my half of the driveway when my neighbor bailed me out with his snow blower. Thank you retire neighbor. I continued to shovel the stairs and sidewalk up to my front door and I look up to see the girls laughing at me from the window. Did not take long until I decided, this looks good enough. I told Sade to grab her camera and come take a photo of me making a snow angel in the backyard. Instead she took a video. On a side note, I would like to thank the companies Northface and Under Armour, because honestly it wasn't that cold. Oh and I had on my husband's work boots...NICE!
Here is the photo of my snow angel. I have a video I will try to upload, but it's not working.
After affects - When I came inside soaking wet it was pitch black in the basement. I start taking Jeff's boots off and got light headed. Whew! Made it upstairs and to the shower and still felt light headed. Note to self, I should have listened to my husband and let him shovel when he got home. I was just trying to be nice to my hubby, but next time I'm pretty sure I'll stick to the indoor activities and will never complain about the treadmill again!

Saturday with kids!
So, the hubs was out of town hunting and I was home with kids. Kid #1 had a friend spend the night (+1), kid #2 went to stay at a friend's house (-1), and kid #4 had a friend over (+1). I decided to take them (4 kids -2 teenage girls and 2 boys age 8) to dinner at ChickFila and to a movie. It was funny, obnoxious, interesting and to say the least I might think twice next time. Talk about self induced torture. HAHA! The teenage girls never stopped talking. Luckily in the theatre they sat in the "couples" seat far away from me and the 8 year old boys did not sit still, slurped out of their slurpee cups the entire time and kicked the seats in from of them, which had people in them. Awe...the life of a parent.

Slacker ~ Yep, that's me!
I have to apologize to my dedicated followers (you know who you are) for not posting in such a long time. I did not even realize it has been since November? Geesh..where has the time gone? Evidently, too fast for this busy momma!
Since I last posted, so much has gone on I don't know where to start. I guess I'll pick a topic! This weekend the hubs is going "hog hunting". When I say hog hunting I mean wild boar = disgusting. A friend of ours jokingly told him she wasn't aware he ever hunted hog. I think that was a derogatory statement regarding ladies of a certain size. He thinks it is funny, but I don't....what's new?
With the hubs gone that leaves me to a nice, relaxing weekend with my kiddos. Yeah...right! Friday I will probably crash after my exhausting week, Saturday I have a meeting at 1pm, basketball game at 3pm (which Dad #2 has to take the kids for me because of my meeting at 1pm), kid #3 wants to stay the night with a friend, and kid #1 wants me to take her dress shopping for Court Warming. YIKES! Whatever happened to a nice weekend chillin' on the couch or taking the kids to a movie? Not in my lifetime. I know my mom had it a lot easier than this ~ and if not, she should have told me to halt on the kid production after #1. Thanks mom for the great advice!
Well, I will do my best to keep up on my blog. I know some of you need the entertainment.
Much love & check back next week for the reassured entertainment after this weekend!
